The ISC Comprehensive Earthquake List (ISC-CEL) and the associated interactive on-line service are not saleable products. They are released strictly to authorised users from those organisations and commercial companies (Sponsoring Organisations) that provide funds for the ISC's charitable work, which aims to improve both the ISC-CEL and the ISC-GEM products for the benefit of humanity.

The ISC-CEL is regularly updated and extended as relevant high quality information on new earthquakes becomes available, or when newly available historical data are used. Major, critical updates are communicated to the authorised users.

As an authorised user from a Sponsoring Organisation, you may use the ISC-CEL and the associated interactive on-line service under the following terms (License):

You may not re-distribute the ISC-CEL or provide access to the associated interactive on-line service beyond your Sponsoring Organisation.

The ISC-CEL and the associated interactive on-line service come strictly without a guarantee that they are complete, correct or available at all times. Despite the ISC taking every effort to ensure the information is as accurate as possible, the ISC will accept no legal, financial or other liability toward its users and their clients for possible errors or omissions that might, as a consequence, lead to reputational, financial, material, human or other losses as a result of using the ISC-CEL data.

Users of the ISC-CEL are required to adopt the following citation: International Seismological Centre (20YY), ISC Comprehensive Earthquake List (ISC-CEL), https://doi.org/10.31905/ISC-CEL. Please change YY as appropriate to indicate the year in which the product was received.

Users are required to give appropriate visible attribution to ISC-CEL in professional conference and business presentations.

The work is protected by copyright and/or other applicable UK law. Any use of the ISC-CEL and the associated interactive on-line service, other than as authorised under this License, or directly allowed by the applicable law is prohibited.
